3/74 Barn immediately to north-west of
Stancombe Farmhouse

Former threshing barn converted to cider barn. C17. Slatestone rubble walls with
a little cob at the top partly repaired in concrete blocks. Hipped thatch roof.
Plan: rectangular plan with central threshing floor. Right-hand end originally
had loft over.
Exterior: single storey. Wide central cart entrance with C19 leanto in front of
right-hand side.
Interior: old wooden cider press is intact and still in use. Original roof
timbers survive consisting of straight principals with collars halved and pegged
on and morticed apices.
