House, now shop and house. C17, altered in C19 and C20. Timber framed,
plastered and weatherboarded, roofed with handmade red plain tiles. 2-bay main
range facing NW. In left bay, 2 hearths with passage between have flues which
unite to form a single stack behind the axis. Rear wing of 2/3 bays to rear of
left bay, with end stack, and crosswing beyond. C20 single-storey extension
to rear of right bay. 2 storeys. C20 shop window. First floor, one early C19
sash of 12 lights and one late C19 tripartite sash of 2-4-2 lights. 2
halt-glazed 4-panel doors, each with a plain overlight. In right bay of main
range, chamfered axial beam with lamb's tongue stops; studs of rear wall
removed. Early C19 branching stair with turned newels, stick balusters, and
truncated handrail. Borrowed lights of handmade glass on both floors. Included
for group value.
