Brick kiln. Early C19, restored 1975. Probably designed by Sir George
Cayley. Sandstone rubble lined with red brick. Brick segment-arched
openings at each end, that to west taller than that to east. Tunnel-vaulted
interior. Experimental type of kiln probably designed to fire mixed goods.
