Sundial shaft. Dated 1668. Gritstone. Approximately 1 metre high; square in
section at top and base, the single block is carved with deep chamfers and
bulbous stops. A rectangular recessed panel on the top of the
south face has the date "1668" in raised letters. The sundial was erected
during the vicarate of Francis Little, who was also responsible for the
rebuilding of the vicarage. T.D. Whitaker, History and Antiquities of the
