6/20 Tomb chest approximately
8 metres south of Church
of St John the Baptist

GV II

Tomb chest. Mid-C18. Sandstone. Slab has cornice moulding with egg-and-
dart enrichment. Inverted consoles at corners. Short sides, facing west
and east, carved with a book and with a worn cartouche. South side carved
with two figures holding books and trumpets, and inscribed: "Here Lies
Interred the Body of Stephen Yearsley late of the Parish. He died Aug
ye 25 1742 aged 78 years .....".
