11/87 Garden wall about 20 yards
south-west of Grafton Manor
and adjoining chapel
GV II
Garden wall. Late C16 with mid-C19 repairs. Handmade brick and sandstone
rubble with sandstone coping. Wall runs west for about 40 yards and varies
between four and seven feet high. About 10 yards along the north side is a
chamfered 4-centred archway with sandstone jambs. The wall survives from the
C16 terraced garden layout created by John Talbot and encloses the garden on
the west side of Grafton Manor and adjoining chapel (qv) to the south.
