Farmhouse. Late C18 with some mid-C19 alterations. Brick with hipped
slate roof and gable-end stacks. East front of three storeys with moulded
stone cornice to parapet. Three windows, two tripartite sashes flank a
glazing bar sash, all under rubbed brick heads with painted stone sills.
Second floor windows similar, but of smaller proportions. Ground floor
has two semi-elliptical plan bay windows with tripartite sashes divided
by slender Doric columns. The doorcase has engaged Doric columns and a
dentilled broken pediment. The fanlight has ornamental glazing and the
door is of six panels. A low two-storey C19 service range is attached to
the right with tripartite sashes and dentilled cornice. Interior: all the
ground floor front rooms have plaster cornices. Staircase has stick balusters.
The north room has been enlarged to take in the site of the back staircase
which was papered with Gothick designs, now hidden by a later false wall.
