5 metres south-west of
Church of St Mary

Wellhead. 1866. Sandstone and wrought iron. Base of three hexagonal steps.
Coping also of hexagonal plan, with moulded lip. Wrought iron superstructure
carried on three supports. An iron ring has three spokes which support a hub
with pulley. Above is a tripod with finial. All are decorated with iron crest-
ing and rosettes. The well was used in the construction of the Church of St Mary
(qv). Included for group value. (VCH, Vol 4, p 121).
