House and adjoining outbuilding. C17, altered mid-C19 and mid-C20. Timber-
framed with painted brick and rendered infill on rubble base, some brick
refacing and replacement walling and machine-tiled roofs. T-plan; main range
of two framed bays aligned east/west with intersecting cross-wing of two
framed bays at east end; external brick chimney on east side of cross-wing.
Two storeys and attic. Framing: four rows of square panels from sill to wall-
plate; cross-wing has two rows of rectangular panels at first floor level of
south elevation with short straight braces across lower corners and a collar
and tie-beam truss with seven struts beneath the collar and a central strut
above with two pairs of raking struts forming a "fishbone" pattern above the
collar. North gable end of cross-wing has a simpler collar and tie-beam truss
with two struts. South front elevation: main part has a 2-light ground floor
window and a 3-light and a 2-light casement on the first floor. Ledged and
battened door in easternmost bay. Cross-wing gable end has a 3-light C20
casement on both floors. Main entrance and two skylights at rear of main
range. Outbuilding adjoins west gable end. Rubble and timber-framed with
brick infill and slate roof. Single bay. Two levels. Framing: two rows
of square panels at upper floor level. South front elevation has a
rectangular ground floor window, a square upper-level window and a ledged
and battened door.
