Public house, early C19, disused in June 1983. Brick, part stucco, part
painted, slate roof. L-plan, the main elevation aligned approx. NW-SE, at right
angles to the road, with a wing extending SW, parallel with the road. Internal
chimney stack at SE gable, axial chimney stack in SW wing. Single-storey
extensions with hipped roofs to NE and SE of SE end, and flat-roofed single-
storey extension in E angle, all C20. 2 storeys. NE elevation, stucco marked
in imitation of stone blocks, central door (boarded over) with fluted jambs
under a semi-elliptical arch in a shallow recess of the same shape, one window
to right (boarded over) under segmental arch, in a shallow recess of the same
shape. First floor, central window (half boarded over) apparently of double-
hung sashes with glazed margins and segmental head, in a shallow moulded recess
of the same shape. 2 double-hung sash windows of 4 lights, early C20. 2
garlands moulded in stucco. Originally a symmetrical composition, the left
ground floor window now covered by an extension. Roof of shallow pitch. NW
elevation, towards road, stucco quoins in imitation of stone, the remainder
painted. 6-panel door, one window (boarded over) under segmental arch, and
on first floor one double-hung sash window of 12 lights under segmental arch,
early C19.
