4/118 Pudding Pie Nook
II
Farmhouse and attached farmbuildings now integrated as one dwelling. Later
C17, altered. Handmade brick part stuccoed and all painted white, slate
roof. Two-bay end-baffle-entry plan, with former farm buildings continued
to east. Two storeys (raised and altered); former front to garden (south
side) has small gabled porch at left end, in line with gable chimney, 2
large modern windows on each floor; rear wall is slightly set back above
ground floor (suggesting that house was formerly single storey), has 2
small square 4-pane casements at ground floor (one a firewindow), and 3
casements at 1st floor, all different. Principal feature of interest is the
interior: housepart in 1st bay has inglenook with stone heck, cambered
bressummer and 2 longitudinal beams, all these with stopped ovolo moulding;
1st floor of abutting continuation to east has 2 principal-rafter roof
trusses with angle struts, but is otherwise now of less interest.
