Late C17. 2 storeys and attic, painted brick, probably on timber frame.
1st floor has 5 near flush frame sash windows with glazing bars. Very
bold wood bracketed eaves cornice and pantile roof with 3 gabled dormers.
Ground floor has central arched opening and 2 late C19 shop fronts. Double
gables to end elevation. Rear elevation has Georgian sash windows and
diagonal-set brick eaves cornice. No 4 has a good late C17 staircase:
closed string, vase-shaped balusters, simply moulded handrail, ball finials
and drop-finials to newels. One cupboard door with moulded panels on first
floor. One C18 wooden chimney piece in first floor room. Possibly there
are similar features in No 3.
