Barn and stables. C17, altered in C19. Rendered stone rubble and cob. Corrugated
iron roof with gable ends. Rectangular on plan with projecting front porch to
barn, stables at left end. Porch with corrugated iron canopy probably added in C19
has reset 2-light timber window on left side, ogival heads to the lights. Medieval
stone human head corbel reset on right side. Square-headed doorway with thick
chamfered jambs and lintel with opposing doorway to rear with plank door. Stables
have loft door above plank door with 2-light window to right, 8 panes per light.
Large, probably C16 carved wooden figure of Pan to right of loft door, suspended on
wall. Stable fittings intact. 4 raised cruck trusses to continuous roof
structure, with collars surviving to 3, morticed into soffits of principals. 2
tiers of threaded purlins and ridge purlin. Extension at left end has reset blind
cusped opening to rear.
