Chest tomb. Dated 1616 in memory of Henry Willoughby. Beerstone ashlar with some
local flint rubble to rear. The chest tomb is rectangular in section on a moulded
plinth and with a soffit-moulded flat lid. A rectangular plaque stands slightly
proud on the south side and the plinth breaks forward below it. This plaque is
inscribed with a mixture of large Roman and half uncial capitals and records the
death of Henry Willoughby in 1616. The west end contains a carved armorial bearing.
