House, 1703, with exterior extensively altered c.1980. Rendered brick with
slate roof. Stone window dressings and drip courses now replaced by cast
concrete replicas. L-plan. 2 storeys with attic, 3 bays, with 2 drip
courses. Ground and 1st floors have cross windows. Attic has 2-light
mullioned windows. Door, in central bay under slated Canopy, has moulded
stone surround with shaped lintel inscribed: 'RM 1703'. Chimney on rear
wall of front range, between 1st and 2nd bays. Drip courses continue on
left-hand return wall. Gable of front range of 2 bays with windows similar
to those at the front. The left-hand bay is blank on the ground floor, The
rear wing has one bay, with a 6-light mullioned and transomed ground-floor
window and a cross window above. Interior has exposed ovolo-moulded main
ceiling joists and a similar firehood bressumer in the left-hand front
room.
