Cross base, medieval, with shaft added in 1920. Sandstone. Base an
irreqular boulder with rectangular socket which holds a tapering shaft .
The cross head is decorated with interlace ornament. An inscribed brass
plate is attached to the base; 'This wayside cross was restored by William
Fitzherbert-Brockholes in A.D. 1920 in memory of his two sons Thomas and
Roger and all from Claughton who gave their lives for their country in the
Great War.'
