Church. 1861-3. G and J Shaw of Saddleworth. Rock-faced
stone, ashlar dressings and slate roof. Nave, north porch,
north-east tower, south aisle and chancel. 5-bay nave and
south aisle with projecting plinth, weathered buttresses
(diagonal at corners). 3-light windows, 5-light east and 4-
light west all with geometrical tracery. 3-stage tower with
castellated corner stair turret, projecting plinth, clasping
buttresses, quatrefoil second stage window, lancet belfry
openings and a prominent broach spire. Interior: chamfered-
arch nave arcade on octagonal columns with moulded capitals.
Arch-braced roof trusses. Carved timber reredos and pulpit.
Stained glass.
