House. c.1820. Flemish bond brick with ashlar dressings
and slate roof. Double-depth central-staircase plan with 2
storeys and a small wing to rear left. 3 bays with ashlar
plinth, first floor band, eaves cornce with blocking
course, hipped roof and 4 chimney stacks. 8-panel door with
Regency style elliptical overlight and side panels and
tetrastyle Ionic canopy. Bays 1 and 3 are slightly advanced
and have 15-pane sashes on the ground floor and 12-pane on
the first with cambered brick arches and stone sills. The
central first floor window is similar but has a moulded
surround. Interior: outer entrance hall has enriched
plaster ceiling and screen to the inner hall with ornate
elliptical fanlight. Dogleg stair with timber barleysugar
balusters. Other rooms have ornate plaster cornices and
orginal fireplaces.
