2 cottages, once 3 cottages. Probably C18. Plastered cob on stone rubble footings;
stone rubble stacks topped with C20 brick; thatch roof.
Plan: 2 cottages facing south-east. These were originally three 1-room plan
cottages but Wren Cottage occupies two rooms, the centre and right ones. An axial
stack between them serves back-to-back fireplaces. Wren Cottage now has a front
lobby entrance. No 3 Sunnyside occupies the left cottage and has an end stack. All
3 front rooms have integral 2-storey service outshots behind and No 3 has a
secondary service outshot projecting to rear to right angles. 2 storeys.
Exterior: overall 3-window front of late C19 and C20 casements with glazing bars.
Both doorways are C20 and that to right (Wren Cottage) has a thatched porch on
rustic posts. The main roof is hipped both ends.
Interior: has plain carpentry detail where exposed but most is plastered over.
Roof not inspected.
These two cottages form part of an attractive group of buildings in the vicinity of
the village green and the Church of St Mary (q.v.).
