Description

TL 5646 LINTON GREEN LANE
(East Side)

16/101 Nos 13. 15 and 17

22.11.67

GV II

Row of cottages, originally C16 farmhouse converted in c.1840 to five
dwellings with C20 extension to south and rear. Timber-framed and plastered,
weather boarded plinth. Thatched roof hipped to left hand and pantiled to
south. Two ridge stacks with grouped shafts rebuilt. Three boarded doors,
six horizontal sliding sash ground floor windows and four similar dormer
windows. A cross beam projects with a key peg to No. 15 suggesting perhaps a
later inserted floor. The property is shown on Millicent's map and faces the
old medieval market place, enclosed in 1840.
