House. Late C18 with earlier origins. Roughly-coursed limestone rubble
with brick dressings, brick stacks and attic storey in Flemish bond. Slate
roof. Plan: probably originally H-shaped on plan, with single-room central
range between 2-room cross wings; central section later infilled, forming
double-depth plan with 3-room south front and entrance hall to left return.
2 storeys with attic, 3 bays by 2 bays. South front: large 12-pane ground-
floor sashes in reveals with projecting sills and stucco cambered arches.
20-pane first-floor sashes in similar surrounds. Straight joints flank
central bay. 4-course brick second-floor band with ashlar dentilled
cornice. 20-pane attic sashes in similar surrounds, ashlar-coped pedimented
gables above. Triple-span roof with 3 large corniced axial stacks. Roofs
hipped to rear. Left return forms entrance front: internal porch to left
with C20 glazed door beneath segmental brick arch, 12-pane sash to right
beneath channelled stucco flat arch. First floor: single 12-pane and 20-
pane sashes beneath elliptical brick header arches. Second floor brick
band. Interior contains late C18 open-well staircase with ramped and
wreathed handrail, wavy wrought-iron balusters and clustered newel; fielded-
panel window shutters to front rooms. Interior not fully investigated.
