West tomb at approximately 2 metres east of Chancel of Church of St Erth

Chest tomb and attached headstone. Circa 1860's. To the West family, including
William West died 1832 aged 80 and his wife Joanna. Dressed granite chest,
originally with iron railings over the base and incised limestone headstone with
quatrefoil to shaped cruciform head. Chest is rectangular on plan and has moulded
lid over shallow sides.
William West, a talented engineer, became son-in-law of John Harvey and was an
important influence in the family firm of Harvey and Co., working with Henry Harvey.
