Cross and cross base. Medieval base, cross of 1909 carved by T S Ullathorne
of Selby. Ashlar. Total height approximately 5 metres. Circular base of 3
steps supports cross on modern square base with square section shaft,
moulded capital and foliated cross. Cast-iron inscription to base reads
"This cross was erected and presented to the town of Howden by Jane, widow
of Thomas Sinclair Clarke Esq of Knedlington Manor, May 27, 1909". Neave D,
