- east wing to house on north
east of settlement at Brazacott
II

Farmhouse and adjoining outbuilding to rear, now forming disused wing to later house.
Circa early to mid C17, possibly with earlier origins. Extended with outbuilding
probably in C18. Stone rubble and cob. Rag slate roof with hipped end on left and
gable end on right.
Plan: This disused wing is probably the only surviving part of a larger house and
the later house adjoining on right (which is not included in the listing) was added
in the late C19, possibly on the site of part of the earlier house. The arrangement
of the earlier house is uncertain. As surviving the wing is of 2 room double depth
plan with entrance on front right. There is a corridor containing a stair which runs
between the front and rear rooms and the rear room is heated by an axial stack which
backs onto this corridor. The wing was further extended to rear in C18 with a barn.
Exterior: Two storeys. Asymmetrical two window front with C19 porch to right and
C19 3-light casement to left. C19 2-light casement with glazing bars removed on
first floor to left and C17 3-light ovolo-moulded timber mullion window to right.
The left hand side wall has a similar C17 3-light mullion window on the first floor.
The right hand side elevation and rear elevation was not inspected.
Interior: Front room partly remodelled in circa C19 and a heavy chamfered cross beam
was reset, spanning the front room and central corridor. In the rear room the
fireplace has been partly blocked but has a chamfered timber lintel and dressed stone
jambs. Moulded C17 plaster overmantel surviving in part with floral motifs and
initials. Remains of moulded C17 plaster cornice in left hand side wall blocked C17
timber ovolo moulded mullion window. The roof structure above the rear room is circa
C17 and the roof structure above the front room has been altered in the C19.
