Pair of estate cottages. Circa 1898-1900. By Romaine Walker for
Mr. Robert Hudson of Danesfield. Ground floor of dressed chalk block,
upper storey roughcast and whitewashed, plain tile roof, wooden
bargeboards to gables. Brick chimneys with "V" pilasters to gables and
centre, the left and centre chimneys retaining off-set heads. Picturesque.
1½ storeys, the upper storey jettied with wooden bressumer on curved
wooden brackets. 4 bays, the centre bays with "M" gable. Ground floor
has pairs of 2-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows to outer
bays and centre; upper storey has 5-light canted oriels to centre bays,
and 2 3-light casements to each gable end. Leaded glazing,
wooden bressumers above upper windows. Centre bays each have board door
in 4-centred arch.
