Western part of large mansion on south bank of the Ouse, dated 1886 and
formerly one building with East Grange q.v. 21/138. Coursed limestone rubble,
modern concrete tile roof, stone coped gable ends, central group of four gault
brick octagonal shafted chimneys. Double pile plan. Two storeys. Front
elevation has two storey bay windows at left and right hand, surmounted by
stone coped gables. Left hand gable has shield with 3 lambs and motto in
square niche. First and ground floor windows of 4-lights with central stone
mullions, heavy wooden mullions and transoms and hexagonal leaded lights.
Inscription on band between ground and first floors. Entrance porch on right
hand with plain shield in apex, single-light first floor oriel over neo-Tudor
doorway. To left of porch is gabled first floor 3-light window with gargoyle
over: 4-light ground floor window underneath. Western elevation has two bay
windows with old clay tile roofs, each under 3-light first floor windows. The
gate posts are square with crowned lions gardant holding shields.
