Pair of houses. Late C16-C17, altered late C18 and early C19.
Left half rebuilt in flint with brick dressings and thatched roof,
half-hipped to left; narrow central rendered section; right half
rebuilt in irregularly chequered brick with first floor band course,
rendered plinth, later brick to upper walls, and C20 tiled roof.
Brick chimneys to centre and between right bays. l½ storeys,
5 irregular bays. 2 bays to left have C20 paired barred wooden
casements,those to first floor in thatch, and similar single light
to ground floor between bays. Entry in left side. Small horizontal
sliding sash in line with central fireplace, with single leaded light
above below eaves. Right bays have 3-light wooden casements, those
to ground floor barred, those to first floor with C20 glazing in
raking semi-dormers. Board door to right of centre with segmental
head breaking into band course. C20 extensions to rear of outer
bays. Interior: timber framing in partition walls; stop-chamfered
spine beams to 3 centre bays; original left by with heavy chamfered
joists and one curved wind-brace; fireplace inserted into centre
bay.
