NY 24 NE WESTWARD Red Dial

2/205 Reservoir Inspection
Chamber

II

Roadside inspection chamber for reservoir. Dated and inscribed 1868 WIGTON
WATERWORKS W. BANKS, ESQ CHAIRMAN. Red sandstone ashlar. Small gabled stone
cell built into side of covered reservoir. Iron door in chamfered surround
under hoodmould, with scrolled inscription under date shield. Floor gone inside
and derelict at time of survey.
