cob wall along road

House and attached cob wall along road. Late C18 and early C19. Brick, old
plain tile roof, cob wall with tile coping. 2 storey, probably originally 4 bay
with 2 bay addition, entrance front used to be onto A337 which has cob wall
beside it, in front-of house, coming from corner of house against Rope Hill. Old
front has old part to LH with RH of centre gable porch, single casement under and
each side. Cambered-head 2-light casement in LH of centre bay and in
LH bay pent-roofed addition and service wing coming forward. Wide 1st floor band.
On 1st floor 2-light and 2 single light casement to centre and RH bays. To RH
2 or 3 light cambered casement in each bay and in centre of 1st floor, walling of
chequer brickwork. Stack at each end of original building and at RH end, and large
stack behind ridge of 2nd bay from LH. Service wing running forward from LH bay
has cob wall of 1½m high running forward from it and then along in front of house.
