Churchyard walls and gate piers. Probably 1869. Probably by W Chick.
Sandstone ashlar. Walls enclose churchyard from road to north and return
southwards at west end for about 20 yards and around east end of apse of
the Church of St Mary (qv). Gate piers are to north of north porch of
Church of St Mary and to north-east of vestry. Walls have stepped gabled
coping and are around three to four feet high. Roll moulding at apex of
gable coping. Second roll moulding near base of walls. Weathered buttresses:
Gate piers are octagonal with stepped pointed cappings. Large broach stops
to bases. Gate between piers to vestry is oak and early C19 with two spear-
headed open panels.
