Farmhouse. Late C16 or early C17 with C18 additions, refaced early C19.
Timber-framed mainly with wattle-and-daub infill to west (rear), part brick
infill, east front refaced with brick, sandstone plinth and sandstone rubble
later additions, sandstone stack with brick shaft. Three framed bays aligned
north/south with further adjoining three framed bays to north. C18 granary
extension extends to east from north end, central entrance to southern three
bays, large external lateral stack to rear with bread oven, later lateral
stack to east front. Two storeys, east front refaced with brick dentilled
eaves cornice. Four windows, mainly 2- and 3-light casement windows with
segmental brick heads, end window in adjoining bay of northern addition,
gabled canopy supported on brackets to doorway with partly glazed door, further
doorway in angle of L. Two-storey granary projects forwards with two windows
directly below eaves and central doorway flanked by window openings. Framing:
revealed to rear and interior, largely complete, four square panels from sill
to wall-plate. Interior contains chamfered ceiling beams and large fireplace
(now blocked). Collar and tie-beam trusses with two struts to collar and V-
struts in end truss, dropped tie-beam trusses to granary with swept braces
to collar.
