Including Nos 61 to 63 (consec) Minster Street. First mentioned 1423. Built
at various dates round a courtyard with one entrance from King Street and secondary
entrance from Minster Street. King Street front Nos 11 and 12 a modern fake
timber design but original timber members survive. 3 storeys. 4 modern windows,
on ground floor 2 angled bay windows and central carriage arch . Nos 8 and
9 and return to Minster Street, 4 storeys early C19, stucco and slate roof
with rounded corner, moulded cornice over 2nd floor and moulded cope to parapet.
No 9 has 2 windows, modern casements. No 8, 3 windows on curve with 2 storey
framing pilaster strips on ground floor, doubled to Minster Street. Glazing
bar sashes except 1st floor. Nos 62 and 63, raised surrounds, cornices to
1st floor. Nos 61 forms a slight break with Ionic pilasters framing centre
and outer incised pilasters, also pedimented 1st floor windows. 3 storey 3
window brick and tile extension to Yeild Hall Lane. Ground floor a continuous
range of modern glazing bar shop windows. The Courtyard is cobbled and the
facades are mainly C18 painted brick with various groups of C18 and early C19
windows; south block with brick block cornice.
