Large detached house. c1720; early C19 additions. Rubble
limestone, mainly roughcast rendered; ashlar dressings; ashlar
chimneys; stone slate roof. Two-storey with attic; 2 rear wings.
East front: 5-window fenestration, all 18-pane sashes with keyed
moulded architraves and bull-nosed sills. Keystones to upper floor
sashes extended over moulded eaves coving. Plain beaded surround
to central doorway with 6-panel door. Timber pedimented Doric
portico porch with columns and matching pilasters added by Sir Guy
Dawber. Plain alternating quoins. Two gabled roof dormers with
leaded casements. Gable end chimneys with moulded tops. Rear: 2
gabled wings, south wing having tent roof to single-storey canted
bay window; 18-pane sash above in C19 opening. Two-light
chamfered mullioned casements to north side. Interior not
inspected.
