Small house: 1848 for National Co-operative Land Company by F.
O'Connor. Altered and extended C20. Painted brick, stone plinth,
slate roof. Three-bay front, extended to rear and to right:
single storey. Slightly projecting gabled centre, centre gabled
timber porch with half-glazed door and corrugated-iron roof: half-
glazed door to house behind. Either side original-pattern single-
light windows, flat rubbed brick arch over. Plain string course
across front of gable, stone quatrefoil ventilator above, slightly
projecting brick verge, plain verge rafter on shaped corbels at
front. End bays 2-light casement to original pattern, flat, rubbed
brick arch: slightly projecting brick eaves course. Brick chimney
behind centre only. Felt-roofed, painted brick extension on right
and 2-storey building abutting on left not of special interest.
Originally 2-acre holding. Listed principally for historical and
sociological interest; forms group with other Chartist cottages
and Prince of Wales Inn (q.v.).
