Chest tomb to Margaret Parsons dated 1695. Limestone. Sides
divided into 3 panels, each containing a blind arch with keystones
and imposts, single 6-panel flower in each spandrel. Fluted
pilasters with Ionic capitals and raised diamond shaped decoration
flanking each panel. Thistle decoration within central panel,
foliate decoration within flanking panels, beaded moulding with
miniative modillion cornice above. North side same as south but
badly eroded. Incised partly legible inscription in italic at both
ends. Carved life-sized female figure in long dress on top of
tomb. Traces of lettering on pillow. (Edith Brill, Cotswold
Crafts, (1977), P65).
