Former manor house, then rectory, now detached house. C17 house
enlarged late C17, altered and extended early and late C19.
Coursed, squared and dressed limestone, brick, later C17 wing, now
roughcast, stone slate roof, ashlar and brick stacks. 'L' shaped
early C17 block, later C17 extension with projecting stacks
attached and extending forward from left-hand wall with large 2-
storey canted bays inserted c1820 to garden front. C19 two-storey
extension in brick in angle between two C17 blocks. Late C19
cottage type extension at rear. Entrance front; early C17 main
body, 2 storeys and attic lit by 2 roof dormers, 2-light one 3-
light both with leaded panes. 2-windowed facade lit by 3-light
double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with ovolo-moulded
mullions and stopped hoods. Part-glazed C19 door under portico
with triangular pediment supported by Doric columns. Foliate
decoration on corner stones either side of pediment. C19 extension
at right-angles left; 2 storeys and attic lit by two 2-light roof
dormers with flat, leaded roofs, 12-pane sashes below within
surrounds with slightly cambered heads. Hipped roof to later C17
extension left, mansard roof to red brick C19 extension. Axial
stacks with moulded cappings, otherwise brick.
Interior: reputed to contain C17 staircase.
