Cottage and forge. Late C16, extended C19, altered C20. Part timber framed with
painted brick infill, part painted brick. Old tile gabled roof on cottage, tile hipped roof
on forge. Rectangular plan of 2 framed bays with forge extension on south east. 2 storeys
and one storey. One chimney on rear roof slope of forge. Road front: forge on left
hand has plinth, small casement window with glazing bar on left, plain plank stable door
on right. Cottage: two C20 2-light metal casement windows with leaded lights on ground
and first floors. C20 planked entrance door on right. Interior: cottage has chamfered
joists with run out stops, beams are similar but with bar stops. Forge has furnace and
bellows still in use.
