Cottage. Late C18 - early C19. Walls of flint and cob, part colourwashed,
extended to north in brick in late C19. Thatched roof. One brick stack at
right end of original building and one at right end of later section. 2 storeys
simple 2-room plan. Ledged door in verandah type porch with brick piers and
pantile roof. In original section, one horizontally sliding sash on first
floor. In later section, one casement with glazing bars on each floor.
Interior largely unaltered, main room has large open fireplace with timber
lintel and bread oven. Probably originally a squatter's cottage built on
highway verge.
