ST 60 SW BATCOMBE Dyer's Farmhouse

Detached Farmhouse. Mid C17. Rubble-stone base and chalk-block
walls. Thatch roof, with gable end at left hand, and half-hipped
at right front. T-Plan house (L-plan extended). Brick stack at
left hand gable, and at ridge right front. 1½ storeys. Irregular
fenestration, various 2- and 3-light wooden casements with
glazing-bars, wooden cills and lintels, front door at centre ground,
flush-panelled with 2 top lights, C19. Rubble-stone and brick
porch with pentice slate roof. Interior: much altered, some
mid-chamfered ceiling-beams.
