Milestone. Probably mid/late C18, Bath to Cirencester road
turnpiked 1743. Single stone slab about 0.8m high, with attached
iron plate painted white and embossed black lettering. Inscription
reads "V/To CIRENCESTER/V/To TETBURY/XXVIII/To BATH".
