and adjoining barn
II
Large farmhouse and attached barn. Mid/late C18. Coursed rubble
stone, stone slate roof, 2 stone end stacks to tallest section,
brick end stack to right. Single long range on different levels,
main house in centre at 3 different levels, with later addition to
left now used as garage/shed, and barn to right. House mainly 2
storeys and attic. Left hand section has gabled dormer with twin
casements across eaves, 6-pane sash to first floor and two 3-light
casements on ground floor; central section has gabled dormer with
twin casements on eaves, 2-light on first floor with timber lintel,
and 3-light to left on ground floor and plank door in wood surround
to right; right hand section has scattered casement fenestration,
some renewed. Barn to far right has projecting gabled cart entry
with rendered gable, large timber lintel and dressed stone quoins.
Quoins to right hand end corner also. Opposed low-level flush
entry partly masked by C20 lean-to. Pitch hole to south. Six
bays, collar and tie beam trusses. Large single stone mounting
block in front of house, of 5 steps, sloping to one side.
