6/253 Statue of Pan c.35 m south
east of The Stables
GV II*
Garden ornament. Mid C18. Lead statue on limestone pedestal. The lively
statue seems to lean on a section of tree trunk, and is set on a square pedestal
with moulded base and capping. The statue was probably sited originally in the
rococo garden to the north of The Stables. (Mowl, T and White, R The Stranqe
World of Pan's Lodqe in Gloucester and Avon life, November 1982).
