Farmhouse. Early-mid C18, cross-wing added c1800. Red brick in English
garden wall bond, stone slate roof. T-shape plan, the later part on right as
3 cross-wing, the earlier part with outshut to rear. Earlier part: 2 storeys
and attic, 4 bays. Old panelled door to bay 2 in projection; bay 1 has an
old horizontally-sliding sash with glazing bars beneath flat arch, bays 3 and
4 have later casements beneath flat and segmental arches, 1st floor: band,
windows as below. Taller 2-storey, 1-bay, cross-wing on right, set forward,
has a tall blind opening to each floor each with stone sill and rubbed-brick
flat arch, lst-floor band higher than adjacent range. 3 ridge stacks to
older range on left; shaped kneelers and ashlar gable copings to cross-wing.
Rear of cross-wing has doorway with rubbed-brick arch; right return of
cross-wing has 2 sashes with glazing bars to each floor beneath similar
arches.
Interior: staircase to lst floor and attic in front-left corner of main
range; staircase in rear outshut and another to rear of the cross-wing.
Brick smokehoods rise through the attic of the earlier range which has
queen-post trusses.
