10/31 Scarah Bank Farmhouse

House and barn, now house. Mid-late C18. Coursed squared gritstone,
graduated stone slate roof. 2-storey, 2-bay house, 2-storey, 4-bay barn
range. House: quoins. Central glazed C20 door in plain surround; on each
floor flanking 6-pane sashes in slightly projecting surrounds, sills of
ground-floor windows lowered. Shaped kneelers, gable coping; end stacks,
that to right corniced. Former barn to left: byre door on right and door to
upper floor, centre; C20 12-pane windows. North Yorkshire and Cleveland
Vernacular Buildings Study Group Report Number 136 (1975).
