Hampsthwaite Bridge over River Nidd
II
Bridge. 1598 rebuilt 1640 with C19 alterations. Coursed squared gritstone.
3 segmental arches, the voussoirs set back slightly; triangular cut waters
chamfered to tops, carried up as recesses; closely set corbels support
overhanging parapet of 3 courses of stone, probably C19. The southern arch
has been widened on the west side to allow a change in the road alignment.
