House. Late C18. Red brick, Flemish bond, ashlar details. C20 pantile
roof to main and single-storey blocks, stone slate roof to 2 storey
block. 3 storeys, 3 bays, with 2 storey, 2 bay, extension to right and
single storey, I bay extension to the right again. Main facade has low
ashlar plinth and quoins, and ashlar bands at first and second floor
levels. 2 shallow steps to door on right of 4 panels and 2 small
lights. Doric pilasters carry plain entablature and dentilled
triangular pediment. Ground floor windows have wide moulded flush
cases, 4-pane sashes with stone sills and incised lintels with keystone.
First floor windows similar, second floor are 2-pane casements with
plain lintels. Brick end stacks. Extension to right has 2 large ground
floor windows with 4 pane sashes and lintels as main facade. Square
casements on first floor with segmental arches in headers. Shaped
kneeler and ashlar coping to right Single storey range has 1 unequally
hung sash window of 9 lights and eaves course of stone slates. There is
original plaster decoration on the ceilings of hallway and main living
room. The staircase, with ramped handrail and slender balusters, is
also C18. Front boundary wall is brick, 70 cm high with stone coping
and 2 squat rusticated gate piers.
