Cornmill, now grain-drying store. Dated 1844; front partly rebuilt c1980.
Iron-framed, encased in red and burnt brick in English garden wall bond with
slate roof and brick stack. Bridge-type mill. Basement and 4 storeys, 5
bays. Round-headed nail-studded door in surround of rounded-arris brick,
approached by double flight of steps. To left and right of doorway are 2
segment-headed slatted windows with stone sills, beneath cambered brick
arches. Remaining windows are similar but those to the left of the upper
floors were removed in consequence of rebuilding. Centre opening to first
floor is blocked by a recessed panel with inscription:

Stepped eaves course. Coped gables and shaped kneelers. End left stack.
Right return: semicircular arch to wheelchamber at basement level. Left
return: low rounded arch over the tailrace. The tailrace was evacuated
through a vaulted brick channel which survives beneath the existing
concreted yard. Interior: at basement level the iron highbreast water-wheel
and pit wheel survive. On the first floor are 2 bedstones of the original
4 pairs of stones. A sack hoist operates through the centre of the mill.
The upper floors are supported on cast-iron columns with braced capitals.
The mill was in operation until 1978.
