Farmhouse and attached cottage. Early C18 cottage; late C18 farmhouse; C20
alterations and extensions. Cottage of coursed rubble stone; house of
dressed stone to front; red brick in English garden wall bond to sides and
rear. Pantile roofs and brick stacks to both buildings. 2-storey, 3-window
front to house; lower 2-storey, 2-window front to cottage to left. House:
C20 glazed door; C20 pivoting windows with painted stone sills. Painted
flat arches to all openings. Coped gables and plain kneelers. End stacks.
Cottage: original centre entrance now blocked by small inserted light.
Present entrance at rear. 3-light replacement window to ground floor right
and to gabled half dormer above. Small 3-light blind window to first floor
left. Painted stone sills and lintels to all windows. Coped gable and
shaped kneeler to left. End left and centre stack. Interior. House:
dogleg staircase through house to attic, with stick balusters, now boxed in,
and moulded handrail, ramped up to each landing. Section of plank and
muntin partition survives under stairs. Ground-floor room to left has
panelled window shutters; ground-floor room to right has a panelled window
recess. First-floor doors off landing are of 6 raised and fielded panels.
Cottage: chamfered beam with run-out stops in ground-floor room to left.
Plank door with wooden bolts on to passage at rear.
