16/11 Orchard Cottage
GV II
House. Probably early C18 with C20 modernisation. Coursed rubble
sandstone on earlier footings; pantile roof. Two stacks, one rebuilt in
brick on stone base. 1-storey, 4-bay front. Right-of-centre board front
door. Plank door at right end, with 4-pane fixed light to left.
Remaining windows are a 20-pane sash to left of front door, 2-light,
12-pane horizontal sliding sash further left, and large 6-pane sash at
left end. All openings have timber lintels. Right-of-centre stack, and
left end external stack. Interior: chamfer-stopped beam in room to left
of door. Chamfered joists throughout, except in right end room.
