Farmhouse, now private house. Mid C18 rebuilding of earlier house, with
C19 extensions and C20 alteration. Rubble sandstone with dressed
sandstone front; red and blue pantile roof. 2-storey, 3-window front
with lower 2-storey, 1-window wing at right and 2-storey, 1-bay extension
at left. Centre left part-glazed door with 2-light window at right and
3-light windows at each end of main front, all with bordered tooled
lintels. First floor windows of 3 lights with timber lintels. All
windows are casements. Similar windows in wing and no openings in
extension. Coped gables and rounded kneelers. End and rebuilt right-
of-centre stacks to main roof; right end stack to wing. Rear. One
quoined, double-chamfered window opening survives in original part of
outshut. Left return. Altered left end originally contained. cartshed and
stable, which comprised part of the buildings forming the farmyard (q.v.)
behind house. Interior. Three massive chamfer-stopped beams survive.
Room to right of entrance contains heck and window reveal of raised and
fielded panelling. Room in wing has panelled cupboard door on butterfly
hinges and original plain stone fireplace and bread oven. In room to left
of entrance carved datestone found in the garden reset in C20 fireplace.
